Refurbishment of high-profile Aquatics Centre which hosted the 2002 Commonwealth Games, provided training facilities for the 2012 Olympics Team GB, and remains the current venue for the Paralympic World Cup. The Challenge

23 Consult have worked with Kier on other high-profile complex projects, and we have successfully provided lifecycle services on such schemes. This delivery and operational complexities of this project allow for delivery in two key phases whilst the building remains in operation throughout the refurbishment period. The lifecycle cost plan therefore:

• Recognises phased construction and ensure that replacement cycles and hard facilities management operations are coordinated

• Derives maximum value from the refurbishment works

• Allows for the unique operational costs associated with a bespoke facility

Achievements

Production of Whole Life Cost plan and report as part of the RIBA Stage 2 design assessment, including modelling of current design and identification of where future cost savings can be made, whilst setting out profiles to coordinate with the timings of phased delivery of refurbishment works.
